As veterans of the Metro Wiki move on or become less active, new members come and go, things change and some rules become forgotten. This is a reminder to all newcomers at the Wiki about the three rules most commonly forgotten about or abused by newbies:
1) We use British English in articles on the Metro Wiki. Please do not change words to be written in American English. You may use American English in articles ONLY when quoting directly from another source that was itself originally written in American English (e.g. something a person has said or the Armory). In blog posts, user pages, and other informal/personal areas you are more than welcome to use any kind of English you prefer.
2) Only names of books are italicised on the Metro Wiki. For example: when editing please do NOT italicise Metro: Last Light, but DO italicise The Tower. This is a very simple yet often misunderstood rule. It exists to make it easier to differentiate between Metro 2033 (the game) and Metro 2033 (the novel) for readers and contributors alike.
3) Please refrain from shortening all the phrases in articles on the Metro Wiki, e.g. do not change "it is" to "it's". This creates an informal and unprofessional tone that we prefer to avoid. However, in blog posts and discussions, feel free to write in whatever way you like.
If ever in doubt, please refer to the Policy of the Metro Wiki. Thank you for your attention and good hunting, stalkers!
