Metro 2033: A Palace for Slaves is the second novel by Svetlana Kuznetsova, written as part of the Metro 2033 Universe. Released in June 2020, this is the one hundred and eleventh book in the series. The novel serves as a prequel to Uroboros.

Synopsis[]

The peaceful life of a village near Moscow changed overnight, when a bloodthirsty creature appeared in the swamp. Even the wolfhounds, who occasionally sneak into the territory of the village, are no match for it. No one can resist the creature's call. But Timur seems to have found a way. He takes two friends with him to Moscow, where he hopes to find help.

  • A prequel to the novel Uroboros.
  • A Palace for Slaves and Uroboros form the cycle "Slaves Not Us"; the title of which was suggested by Vladimir Scherbakov, the curator of the project on FantLab.
  • The cover art was again done by Mikhail Panteleev.
  • Part of the action takes place in the Podushkinsky Forest near Odintsovo, but references to the trilogy Rublevka: What an Empire is Worth are never featured.
  • By a strange coincidence, the name of the protagonist (Timur, or more often Tim Volkov) coincides with the name of the author's colleague from the STALKER project.
  • Individual enlightened Polis residents are compared to the liberal intelligentsia.
  • Originally due out in May 2020, due to bookstore closures from to the COVID-19 pandemic, this book's release was delayed by a month.
