Little is known about the post-war situation in Belarus, plus its capital city's metro system was constructed at a much more shallow level in comparison to that of other former Soviet cities - meaning that the chances of survival are reduced. Nevertheless, some Belarusians have managed to take refuge in the Minsk Metro before the bombs fell, as the novel Muos takes place there.

Trivia[]
- The history of Belarus is largely defined by the kingdoms that controlled its lands for most of history, namely the Polish Commonwealth and the Russian Empire.
- The name of Belarus is Slavonic for "White Ruthenia", most likely stemming from the title of the historical lands within the Grand Duchy of Lithuania that were inhabited primarily by early Christianised Slavs - in contrast to "Black Ruthenia", which was mostly populated by pagan Balts.
