Metro 2035: Blackwater is the third novel by Victor Lebedev, written as part of the "Metro Universe" and the Spirit of Freedom series. Released in February 2019 as part of the Metro 2035 Universe, this is the thirteenth book of the premium series.
Synopsis[]
The current brings a wrecked boat with a broken mast to a supertanker stranded in the middle of the Black Sea. The inhabitants of the Black Sea find a man barely alive on deck, drag him ashore, and bring the survivor to his senses. Who this mysterious stranger is and what he was doing at sea is unknown. It seems that the man himself doesn't know who he is and where he came from...

- The first sequel in the series to hit premium, set in the year 2035.
- The events of Black Sea were originally set in 2033 and were moved two years ahead by the author with a premium hit.
- "Black Sea" is the name of a colony formed on a grounded tanker and surrounding barges.
- "Black Sea" suffers from attacks by mutant fish and pirates called Ottomans (but that doesn't mean they're from Asia Minor).
- There is a constant fog around the Black Sea. Hence the effect of the hero emerging from the fog on the cover.
- Volgodonsk, one of the key locations of Flying Away, is featured as well.
- By and large, Black Sea can be read in isolation from the first two books, but there are cameos by Yamaha and Misha Yermolin.
