I have been a fan of the series since the Metro 2033 game came out in 2010. After finally being able to read some of the books in the Universe of Metro 2033 (since none are available in English), I wanted to contribute to the best database of Metro lore for my fellow English speaking fans. My goal is to help expand the lore from the Universe of Metro 2033 and make it easier for the English speakers to learn the awesome stories not available to us. My first edits include additional information to The Roots of Heaven and The Children's Crusade pages as well as adding page to the protagonist of these two books, Father John Daniels. Hope I'm doing well so far, please do let me know how I can help and improve my edits. Its an honor to c…
After several hours of searching, trial and error, swearing and performing some dark rituals, I managed to fix our navboxes so that they can be collapsed and expanded and also include the view/discuss/edit buttons, as is common with Fandom navboxes. Finally, we don't have to be ashamed of them! :D
If you all are wondering when my english is not good:
I am from Switzerland and was not very good in English at school.
Also: I'm a very big fan of the Metro Games and it was a coincidence how i did meet the games. Also i do own a Nixie-Watch what is purchased from etsy, i feel myself so than Artyom.
I have spent a few hours translating the updated version of Moscow Metro map from Russian, so now it is available to English speakers as well! Compared to the original version, this version includes more stations and also more factions, some of which have only appeared in the Universe of Metro 2033 books, but are considered canon.
See the finished map below!
I also have a blank version of this map if anybody wants to translate it into their own language and use on their wiki:
Recently, I've converted the last non-portable infobox into the new portable format. This wiki is now free of old non-portable infoboxes, yay!

It was back in 2000 or 2001 that I gave my computer-gaming virginity to a thing called 'Quake III Arena'. I had seen and tried it on a friend's machine, and soon had my own copy. The online multi-player was the place to be. Then.
But soon I found 'Half Life' and 'Half Life 2' along with the following episodes. Pretty soon they were followed by a series of similar games like 'Quake 4', 'Farcry', 'Pariah', 'F.E.A.R.' and 'Doom 3'. Some had sequels and expansions which were also duly consumed.
Then I picked up a copy of what was the latest, and seemingly the current most popular, thing around: 'Crysis'. I jumped into it enthusiastically, as I do any new (to me) game, and got on reasonably well. Nothing special, but I'd rea…
Well, the title says it all. :D Hopefully they will be useful and make the Exodus' weapon upgrade system a bit clearer for the newcomers. :D
Since not many editors on this Wiki are readers of the Universe
of Metro 2033 (Book Series), if anyone would like me to research a
particular topic regarding that then feel free to make some
suggestions. There are plenty of these books out there now, plus
I'd like to read them at my own pace, but I have finisihed most of
the ones already available to me. So rather than pages for new
novels I'm especially looking for suggestions regarding tidbits of
info about life in the metro/around the world after the apocalypse,
types of mutants elsewhere, etc. - whether it's creating small new
articles or fleshing out the existing ones with extra

Hello one and all, this blog post is a reminder to all users, new and old, that leaked material is not allowed on this wiki. I myself have seen several leaked screenshots ahead of the E3 reveal, however in accordance with our wiki policy, we will not be hosting or detailing any leaked materials until they have been fully revealed by a 4A/Deep Silver/THQ Nordic staff member during any conference or gameplay showcase.
Any images will be deleted, information on pages will be rolled back, and users will get a friendly reminder on their page. Repeat offenders will have a short term band.
Thanks for your understanding.
Confirmed by Huw Beynon on twitter. New trailer for Metro Exodus being shown at the Game Awards, this thursday, 07/12.
First of all, Hi, my first post. Second, I have recently re-read Metro 2033 for the 4th Time, and am now reading Metro 2034 for the 2nd time, and im still in love with both of them as I was the first time. However, reading Metro 2034 and analysing the two books for a moment has lead me to a horrible realisation. When Arytom is captured by the Facists and then rescued by the Revolotionaires (On the map as Trotskyists), we are introduced to the very unique characters of the Revolution, one of which is Asian, and one of which is black, both of whome belong to a race Artyom has never seen before. Despite the fact Arytom, by this point in the novel, has seen a fair number of station and so a fair number of people, we know he hasnt seen anyone o…
Ladies and gentlemen, I bring you some really bad news... someone hacked the Last Light forum, possibly through Skaara's account. If so then it is most likely that they have access to the personal info (passwords, e-mails, etc.) of everyone on the forum. I think Skaara has already contacted Harley about this. If you used the same password from the forum anywhere else, then now would be a good time to change it.
I recently noticed that, on the level quarantine, a soldier is using a gas mask similar to a GP-5. Could it be the GP-5 really? I know it doesn't have that valve thing on the side, but I really became curious. Also, notice that the guy is using Altin-style helmet.
I don't think they really use many proper gas masks in the games - they all seem to be fictional ones with elements inspired by actual gas masks (e.g. this one appearing similar but different to the GP-5, the ranger helmets resembling the M10 a little bit, etc.). Also, no need to upload a duplicate image, I've made the same screenshot and uploaded it two years ago for the gas mask article. :) --Karmazynowy Wilk (talk) 13:03, June 21, 2016 (UTC)

Metro 2035 videogame announced by Dmitri Glukovsky. Earlier 4A Games programmer Oles Shishkovcov announed that they are working on an new ope world game and that Metro Redux's developers will be assigned to it too. As written here Dmitri officially announced that that cideo game is Metro 2035. http://gamebomb.ru/gbnews/13592
I have noticed that strong majority of videos here on wiki containing soundtracks were deleted due to the "violation of copyright". Weren't be better if we'd deleted the YouTube shortcuts and replaced them with .ogg files?
Glukhovsky finally revealed that Metro 2035 will be released in June 2015, but it's chapters are releasing in russia in a free newspaper called "Metro". https://instagram.com/p/0nKLEQtKcI/
Some dialogues from official facebook page of metro 2035 in russian.

While reading Metro 2034 (finally out in english), I came across two important facts that lead me to believe that the "Redemption" ending is the cannon ending for Metro last Light.
In Metro 2034:
- Miller is confined to a wheelchair, missing both his legs.
- Artyom is married and living at Exhibition.
Granted, Miller doesn't say to whom Artyom's married, or that he has a kid, but since 2034 takes places "a year and a half" years after 2033 according to Miller, it's plenty of time for the events of Last Light to have happened. I think this is pretty compelling evidence that the Redemption ending is cannon. Of course this isn't 100% certain until Metro 2035 comes out, but the fact Miller's missing both legs in a wheelchair seems to strongly suggest …

My username is Inglorious 337. I've been a huge fan of Metro 2033 ever since i first played it back in 2010. I was hooked instantly. The storyline is amazing, the game itself is revolutionary in the way it plays, the settings, the characters etc. This is the first ever blog i've wrote and the first time i've ever posted in this wiki, so i'm going to try and find as many easter eggs as i can and hopefully upload them for everyone to view.
The easter egg i found last night, 06/10/2014, left me wondering why no-one had posted a video yet so i decided to put it on YouTube and then posted it here. So enjoy please.
As said 4A Games' technician Oles Shishkovcov "We had free resources to work on Redux, when a new project is nearing a preliminary stage of readiness. Now we need the Redux team, to ramp up the pace of work on a new project! For the game, on which we are working now, our designers have chosen a more open-ended gameplay - with less linearity, but also with a deep storyline. I will not go into details, but we also need to work of programmers. Also, we have improved the graphics in its various aspects, including the use of a physical system models shading. I'm not going to talk about the system of physical rendering, because we are still at the stage when the artists have yet to adapt our perception of the game. Generally, designers want more…

Just a quick update as to my status with regard to
Last Light Metro Redux (that'll be hard to get used to).
I'm currently just at the end of term 5 of my 6 terms at vidya gaem
school, and have been working non-stop on a student game for the
final assignment. 50 days of walking to school, sitting down for
eight hours, and coming back home to sleep - strait. What a
Irregardless, the upcoming release of Redux means that some things will need to be added to the wiki. On top of that there's a fair amount of interesting little numerical goodies I still have from a Term 3 Game Design Document analysis I did on Metro Last Light, as well as a buttload of issues currently present in the wiki that have to be addressed.…
In survival you will play metro 2033 style which means ya will have 2033 metro made watch with the blue light added + inventory.
In spartan ya will have the regular watch from last light.
Which style you will choose??
miller said that :dont fight the librarian just stand like a statue and look them in the eye and when they start to get angry get back slowly . guess what it didnt work and i dont know why when i go back they start fighting me so a gave it a couple of bullet in the head and i figured that the best weapon to kill them is the Helsing gun shoot them in the head they wont stand a chance .
I have noticed there is a bit of inconsistency throughout articles that can be a bit confusing. I know the policy says that it does not matter what tense you use when writing an article, but I think it would make a bit more sense if the articles about deceased characters were written in past tense, as according to the canon. Just a thought, and it would be very easy to fix...at least this way it would correspond with the fact that there character is dead.
Metro Redux here!!
- Metro 2033 and last light Metro-Made watch change.
- Khan both in 2033 and last light is the same as in last light
- Added silent killing in Metro 2033.
- Added check watch and check inventory.

Well I'm going to be honest. I haven't been on this Wiki for months and the reason for that is. I'm just too damn busy, plus there isn't that much new content to put in (except for the next-gen versions of Metro 2033 and MLL for the X1 and PS4). All that's left is fixing spelling and grammer problems which is hard to find due to the hard work we've all done. The reason for writing this blog is because I feel like the hey-day of the Metro Wiki are now gone. That's not to say this Wiki wouldn't be popular again due to the fact that Deep Sliver said that there are going to be future Metro games (can't wait). Well that's all I have to say. Thanks for reading and....*wait for it*... see you in the Metro.
P.S I wrote this while listening to music…
Hey anyone reading this, just a quick update..
I haven't been particularly active as of late, as I'm currently mid-way Term 3 of my Game Design education. Things are starting to get hectic, and, as some of you might have noticed, I've had less and less time to go to the wiki and edit. While I won't be available for quite some time (probably a few weeks, unless there is suddenly a course lighten) I do have some good news. I've had one group assignment for creating a Game Design Document, the contents of which, were to be based of a pre-existing game. The game we chose, and the project I headed was Metro Last Light. I, then, have some 90 written pages featuring many of factoids that currently do not appear on the wiki, and when I have a good …
i think that in Metro 2035 there will be multiplayer. In multiplayer there will be five factions -
- Red Line
- Polis Rangers.
I think each faction (except stalkers and bandits) will have classes (As BF4) for example- Reich and Communists Snipers, Heavy, regular, Stalkers, Engineers and so on. What do you think?
I would really like to see an open world feature in Last Light, the Metro system and Moscow itself are vast in size. The developers could add side quests and things to discover. If this isn't added in a future DLC then it could be added in a future game.
Since it is well known that metro 2033 had a planned multiplayer, Ever since I played the red line map on metro 2033, I've always thought it would be a perfect place for a multiplayer war. I've decided to write a little thing exploring my interests and to hear other metro players hopes for the metro last light multiplayer.
==Team Based ==
Personally I'm hoping that metro last light will go for a class type of combat. Some potential classes are most likely like the MLL steam cards. If you haven't seen them, I highly recommend you spend a little time looking at them. The two playable factions would be the Hanza and the Reich with 4 classes each including (heavy, sniper, trooper, and scout). I think these are the best story wise from the persp…
Wanna see the result of a bored out of piss saturday evening? Well lucky you for I wrote a metro fan fiction about the soldiers on the frontline between the Nazis and the Reds. What response I have gotten off it has been good so I thought it was worth sharing it with you guys. If you like it, let me know for I got some more suff coming up in the near future. Now quickly click the link before you realize that I just shamelessly used the Metro wiki as a way to advertise my fan fiction.
Marry Cristmas to all Metro inhabitants!!! i hope next year 4A games will release Metro 2035 game AND Dmitri Glukhovsky Metro 2035 Book :)
Watch this even if you're not understanding russian!
It's almost the end of the December (as well as my birthday is coming) but the metro 2035 isn't released. Anybody knows when it will be released?
What do you think the Fourth Reich would do if they found some real Germans in the metro? Would they treat them as an inferior race or would they treat them as kind of role models or maybe as equals, maybe superiors. Also what if they encountered German Nazis who say have resurrected the "Third Reich" somewhere on the surface. Would they be friendly to eachother, would the Russian Fourth Reich nazis pledge allegance to the German Third Reich nazis or would the German Nazis consider the Russian Reich inferior because of world war 2, german-russian relations.

For some reason this has been really bugging me about Metro Last LIght. I noticed that in every trailer for the game whether it be the salvation trailer or the survival guides, that the Reich's design looks different than in the final game. In the 2011 E3 demo( before we saw a real difference in the graphics) the Reich had the similar design to that of in 2033. They still had the exact same Stalhelm helmets(the better looking ones than the ones in the final game), the short sleeve uniforms for regular soldiers, trench coats for officers, the steel arm armour and the knee pad style Shoulder armor and even got to see the Nazi stalker uniforms from 2033. At that point the developpers had added more eagle wing insignias on their backs, the…
