Diesel (Russian: Дизель) is a shock trooper of the Fourth Reich and a comrade of Hans, in the Metro: Last Light mission "Heavy Squad".
Overview[]
Little is known of Diesel beyond his actions on the Frontline, but it can be presumed that an elite shocktrooper is a veteran of many battles. Like Hans, he is only called in when shock and awe tactics are required, utilising heavy weaponry to repulse the enemy. He appears to have worked closely with Hans before since he is in awe of Hans' reputation. Diesel gives Hans his Medved during the battle on Frontline, which is used to destroy the Red Line's tank.

- Interestingly, Diesel's armor and gear seem to be based off of some of Last Light's "Reich Trooper" concept art.
- It's unknown what Diesel's speciality actually is, as, aside from giving Hans the Medved, he never actually uses any heavy weaponry.
- He may just be a rifleman to protect Hans in battle.
