Embryo: The Beginning is the debut novel by Yuri Mori, written as part of the Metro 2035 Universe. Released in May 2019, this is the sixteenth book in the premium series. The first novel of the Embryo trilogy.

Synopsis[]

Voronezh, the summer of 2035. Stalker Kat, a stubborn loner, returns to the city and finds himself in the middle of a conspiracy. The leadership of the military base requires his special abilities to find a key to the future. It's just a matter of a small team to go through the mutant-inhabited Shilov Forest, get the cryobank scheme, and come back alive. But everything is more complicated than it seems at first sight...

  • The working title is "Embryo".
  • The new (expanded) title hints that this is the beginning of a larger story.
  • This is the second book with a colon in the title in a row. It was preceded by Muos: The Fall.
  • Yuri Mori is the pseudonym of Yuri Zhukov. Hides, in part, the author's motto, "humor".
  • The nickname of the protagonist (Kat) can be translated as "executioner", which will be used in the text.
