Metro 2033: Flying Away is the second novel by Victor Lebedev, written as part of the Metro 2033 universe and his Spirit of Freedom series. The sixty-fifth book in the series, this novel is set in Volgodonsk, Kaluga, Moscow Oblast, and Moscow itself. It also mentions settlements in other regions of the European part of Russia.

Synopsis[]

Try to survive when you are hunted and all your allies are a roaring bike and a gusty wind! And life counts not for seconds, but for kilometers that bring you closer to the final goal, the result of which, as it turns out, is death.

Few dare to challenge the surface. But what are the true motives of the lone biker turned new legend of the post-nuclear world of 2033? Is it possible to enter the same water twice? And is it possible to escape from the past?

When you have to fight not only with external obstacles, but also with themselves, when the fate of every step puts a stick in the wheels, it is time to think, luck did not turn away from you. And, once again putting a frayed bike on a dusty, cracked asphalt, a nasty thought creeps in, that maybe, as a famous rock band sang in the past, this is the road to hell. From where there is no return.
