The frog is any member of a diverse and largely carnivorous group of short-bodied, tailless amphibians composing the order Anura. Toads and frogs appear in various stories from the Universe of Metro 2033 and in Metro Exodus (namely Vladivostok, as seen in the Sam's Story DLC).
Overview
Similarly to their four-legged peers, dogs and deer, frogs seem to have survived the nuclear war with no noticeable mutations. This could be due to the fact they always preferred rural areas and regions not as densely populated by humans as larger towns and cities, which were more often targeted using biochemical warfare. From a gameplay standpoint, frogs and toads pose zero danger to Sam, who sometimes even accidentally steps on these harmless amphibians when traversing the flooded city ruins of Vladivostok.
