Kaleidoscope is an achievement in Metro Exodus.

Overview

The achievement is obtained for killing 3 enemies using sniper scope while wearing the gas mask and using the night vision goggles at the same time.

Gas mask is a standard part of Artyom's equipment and it can be used from the beginning of the game. Sniper scope is either a x4 scope, or a x6 scope, weapons that can equip such scopes include, but are not limited to, the Kalash, the Valve, the Revolver, or the Tikhar. Such scopes are first found in The Volga. NV Goggles can also be first found in The Volga, in a flooded terminal where the player has to retreive Krest's railcar. However, the player has to get a key by rescuing two prisoners from the Bandits before they can enter the area where the goggles are located. This means that The Volga is the first level where the player can get this achievement.

Trivia

• A kaleidoscope is an optical instrument with two or more reflecting surfaces tilted to each other in an angle. The instrument usually contains small translucent objects (like glass beads) inside. Rotation of the cell causes motion of the materials, resulting in an ever-changing view being presented. Combining more optical devices (like a scope and NV goggles) together also creates an optical system with multiple reflective surfaces (as such devices usually contain mirrors and/or reflective prisms), hence the name of this achievement.
