The M1 Line (Polish: Linia M1) is the first line of the Warsaw Metro that stretches from the north to the south. It crosses the newer M2 Line at Świętokrzyska station.
Overview[]
The M1 line is 23.1 km long and has 21 stations. While plans to build an underground rail system in Warsaw date as far back as 1918, the Second World War as well as the political and economic instabilities of Poland that followed resulted in numerous cancellations and delays. Construction of the current system did not begin until 1982.
Running through the central areas of the Polish capital, the M1 line is the main artery of the Varsovian Metro with the most powerful factions and most numerous populations of survivors stationed here.
