"Martian" is an achievement in Metro Exodus.
Overview[]
The achievement is obtained by patching up your gas mask with duct tape after it's heavily damaged (you can tell this by the appearance of a hole on the left side of the glass). The easiest way and the earliest opportunity to obtain it is during the level "Moscow", since the player will be engaged in firefights while wearing the gas mask.
If you want to unlock this achievement, do not under any circumstances use the armored glass upgrade from the "Caspian" level. Otherwise, you will most likely get the achievement in a natural way.
Trivia[]
- This achievement is an obvious refence to The Martian, a movie based on the novel of the same name, written by Andy Weir. In the movie, the main protagonist finds himself standed on Mars and during a dust storm, his space suit's visor gets damaged. He repairs the visor with a duct tape, same way as Artyom can temporarily fix his gas mask in the game.
