Metro 2033: Ouroboros is Svetlana Kuznetsova's first novel written as part of the Metro 2033 universe. Released in November 2018, this is the ninety-sixth book in the series. The second part of the Slaves Are Not Us duology.
Synopsis[]
Vlad once lived on Frunzenskaya and never wanted to go anywhere. But in order to survive, he had to escape into the darkness. His wanderings through the tunnels almost ended with a shootout at Hanza, and then fate threw him into the abandoned station of Nagatinskaya.
On the line between Nagatinskaya and Tulskaya, always considered safe, people began to disappear. Strangers and stalkers draw Vlad into the hunt for a bloodthirsty mutant. Only no one knows how things will turn out and who will actually hunt whom...

- The working title is "The Law of Ouroboros".
- There is a mutant called an "Ouroboros" in the novel, but Svetlana Kuznetsova's novel refers only to the symbolic meaning of the World Serpent.
- The main character, Vladlen Simonov, comes from Frunzenskaya, and because of his name he runs into problems time and time again.
- Although Svetlana is familiar with a number of books in the series, the references are only to the Metro trilogy by Dmitry Glukhovsky and the Polish short story "Justice for All".
- The epigraph was written specifically for the book on behalf of the charismatic lone stalker Kai. His initials are the same as the author's own initials: S.A., and Vyrin is Kai's real last name, which is not mentioned in the novel.
- Much of the novel is about Nagatinskaya Station, which Hansa is trying to colonize in November 2033.
- For the first time since The Witness, this novel contains elements of the detective genre.
