Petrovich (Russian: Петрович) is a character in the Developer Pack DLC for Metro: Last Light, during the Spider Lair level. He is a member of a group of Stalkers, alongside Simon and the player stalker.
Overview[]
Petrovich is first seen in the Venice bar, with his companions, listening to Simon talk about a hidden bunker he had heard of. After the discovery of D6, the whole Metro was looking for more pre-war bunkers. This one has no map, although stalkers have previously visited it. Petrovich is reluctant, but Simon insists they are 'tougher than them'.
However, the mission didn't go as well as he expected: apparently, in the silo, the three companions were separated. Two days later, the stalker finds Petrovich, dead, with a trail of burnt Spiderbugs leading to him. The stalker takes Petrovich's flamethrower before pressing onwards.
Trivia[]
- According to Russian naming customs, his name is the patronymic - meaning it's his middle name (the name of his father being Petr or Pyotr) that he adopted as his nickname. However, he could also be of Ukrainian, Polish, or South Slavic descent which would mean that Petrovich is his surname after all.
- Petrovich is called a joker by Simon after he produces his flamethrower to light a cigarette.
- In Metro 2033, when you first reach Polis, someone called Petrovich is mentioned after Ulman jokes about the fascists. The guard says he's lucky Petrovich is not around, because he doesn't like jokes.
- Strangely enough, he uses the same facial model as Lesnitsky.
