During the events of World War III, the soldiers stationed in Ploschad Lenina panicked in the chaos of the attempted evacuation of Novosibirsk. With only six soldiers to man the entrance gate, the officer in charge made the decision to seal the gates, thus preventing anyone from seeking shelter in the station that weren't already there. Sometime after the war, the stations vaulted ceiling collapsed, thus making the station uninhabitable.
