Polar Dawns (Russian: Полярные Зори, Polyarnye Zori) is a town that is mentioned in Metro 2034, and returns again as a location spoken about in Metro 2035. It's located in Murmansk Oblast, Russia, on the Niva River, Lake Imandra, and Lake Pinozero; it is 224 kilometres south of Murmansk and 1500 kilometers from Moscow. It's the location of the Kola Nuclear Power Plant.

The location is first heard of through Homer, who describes it as untouched and fortified. The town and area around it contained no targets of significance, allowing them to be spared from Nuclear Anihilation. The Power Station, which was one of the most powerful in the country, has its own farm, agricultural land, and army. The location contains enough fuel to power themselves for centuries, maintaining luxuries of the pre-war era, such as computers, electronic libraries, and heating.

  • It's one of the many survivor camps that radio operators have come across.
  • In Metro 2035, rumors are circulating that survivors have arrived at the Moscow Metro from Polar Dawns.
