Overview

Turret Cart

Railcar

The turret cart appears to be a standard transport for military troops and goods, as well as a war-machine. These railcars are commonly used byNazis and appear to be remnants of cars put on rails or simple train-fronts heavily modified for combat. On the top of them is a large operable DShK 12.7mm Machinegun which can rotate a full 360 degrees. The turret is very well protected with thick metal and even has a functioning flashlight. The front end of the car, the car part, does indeed, work like a car working via an ignition system and an engine compartment. This railcar can kill anyone who stands in its way, including Artyom.

Hand Cart

Handcart

The hand cart is the unofficial name of the vehicles used by Metro inhabitants for transportation between stations or for moving generic supplies. Hand carts are not designed for combat and instead for civilian use, however, they can be equipped with steel sheets to make armored carts. Hand carts are most likely old Metro utility hand carts used for servicing the lines, when the bombs fell the hand carts were already in the tunnels, ready for use.

Railbike

Ulman and his railbike.

The unofficially named "railbike" is a rapid on-rails vehicle used only once in the game by Ulman when he is taking Artyom to Polis. Judging by the sound it makes, it's sidecar, and overall seated design it is quite likely that the railbike is physically based on a salvaged motorcycle. The motorcycle is rather unprotected and is most likely used by the metro inhabitants strictly as fast transport. The railbike is only used once in the game and this is after the Artyom has passed through the Nazi controlled Black Station.
