Sanya (Russian: Cаныа) is a Ranger and a minor character appearing in Metro: Last Light. 

Overview

He is briefly seen at the Church base in the marshes and appears to be the commanding Ranger of the outpost. He does not interact with Artyom, but does speak to Anna about the Stalker team on their way to the base. He is depicted wearing the regular dark jumpsuit uniform the rangers wear. 

He converses with one of the travelling gun merchants about picking up outside signals on the radio. He mentions getting St. Petersburg on the radio and is told about a plane spotted flying over the city. He also mentions picking up a long range signal to the north, a power plant community being besieged by bandits. He is presumed KIA after Lesnitsky attacks the church.
