The Depot is a location in the Novosibirsk Metro. A storage facility for railcars before the war, it became an important OSKOM settlement afterwards.

Overview[]

Located between Krasny Prospekt and the destroyed Ploschad Lenina stations on the Leninskaya Line of the Novosibirsk Metro, it was the furthest south of the OSKOM controlled settlements. It provided crucial scrap metal resources to both Krasny Prospekt and Sibirskaya stations, as well as containing the only other transfer between the two lines of the metro. Despite this, the residents of Krasny Prospekt and Sibirskaya generally looked down on the residents of the Depot, seeing them as only slightly better than the residents of the dirty stations.

Much like the rest of the southern line, the settlement dealt with constant leaks and slime infestations, requiring OSKOM to periodically burn off the encroaching slime to keep the pumps running and the station inhabitable. However, as the situation grew more dire in 2035, the Depot eventually flooded, requiring the use of boats to transport material out, as well as some residents seeking to resettle in Krasny Prospekt or Sibirskaya. Those who remained suffered from radiation poisoning due to OSKOM reducing their access to the Radioprotector, and eventually succumbed to either radiation poisoning, or the worms that came to infest the area.

By the time the crew of the Aurora arrived, the Depot was completely overrun with slime and worms, with no survivors to be found. The vaulted ceiling was also damaged at some point, leaving the entire area dangerously irradiated, requiring a gas mask to cross.
