The Valley (Russian: Долина) is a location in Metro Exodus. It serves as the main setting of the Taiga chapter.
Overview
This seemingly idyllic landscape is located in northeastern Kazakhstan. Compared to the rest of the former Soviet Union, the Valley has been effected little by radiation. It is home to the Children of the Forest, a group of survivors that became trapped in their summer camp after the war. Bandits are known to occasionally make incursions into the area, though most end up being killed by the Children. It is later revealed that the reason this region was not polluted like the rest of the world was a large dam holding back millions of tons of radioactive sediment. However, the dam is starting to give way, and will inevitably crack, dooming the Valley once it does.
Trivia
- The satellite map in Novosibirsk identifies the valley as being within the former Burabay National Park.
