Vorobyovy Gory (Russian: Воробьёвы горы), meaning "Sparrow Hills", is a destroyed surface station located on the Luzhniki Metro Bridge. It's a part of the Sokolnicheskaya Line of the Moscow Metro.

Overview[]

In Metro 2033, it was mentioned that the surface bridge over the river Moskva had been destroyed, which isolated three stations of Sokolnicheskaya line. A semi-mythical community of intellectuals and former university staff known as Emerald City is said to inhabit the three stations.

In Metro 2034, Leonid and Sasha travel to this end of Sokolnicheskaya line in order to reach Emerald City. They are stopped by a massive steel door with a buzzer that no one has ever gotten a response from. Therefore, the novels neither confirm nor deny whether Emerald City is real.

The level "Bridge" of Metro: Last Light takes place on the Luzhniki Metro Bridge and in Voroyovy Gory Station. Artyom and the Baby Dark One have to cross the bridge, fighting or avoiding various mutants in the process. A group of Stalkers led by Semenov was on a mission in the area, but they were killed while crossing the bridge. All that remains are several corpses and a radio.
